The Writers Tricks of the Trade online magazine has come a long way in the years it has been in publication.
Now is the time to give you a little history. It all began years ago when Morgan St. James wrote and published the "On the Prowl" Newsletter for the now closed Southern Nevada Sisters in Crime chapter. It was a nice newsletter with anywhere from 4 to 8 pages. With the chapter closed, so was the newsletter. But, Morgan missed writing it and sharing all of the tips and techniques from other writers. So, the Writers Tricks of the Trade newsletter was born.
Various platforms, formats and lengths were experimented with, and each time it got better. Some of you may remember the early ones, back when it essentially was a newsletter. It has now evolved to an online magazine with free subscriptions and is published quarterly. We have some wonderful contributors, great articles and stories and circulation has gone way up.
Beginning with this issue, Morgan's photo will be on every cover rather than stock vectors or photos. This was suggested by Carolyn Howard-Johnson, our resident book marketing guru to establish a branding. Every issue now includes at least two short stories in addition to writing technique and news articles.
If you are interested in advertising a book or service, the rates are very reasonable. Just send a query to wttmagazine@gmail.com.
The Winter issue will be released on January 15, 2020. You can download flash editions of most of the past issues on joomag.com - put Writers Tricks of the Trade in the search box.
